Frequently Asked Questions

General

What exactly does Housetable do?

Housetable is a cloud‑native SaaS platform that lets banks, credit unions, and other lenders originate and service Renovation  HELOCs and similar products. We handle automated ARV valuation, contractor vetting, draw management, and borrower engagement—all inside three purpose‑built portals.

Will Housetable replace my existing team?

No. Housetable is designed to make your current staff dramatically more efficient—not redundant. We automate repeatable checks, surface exceptions, and give your team modern tools so they can focus on higher‑value work.

How long does implementation take?

Typical go‑live is 4–8 weeks. You’ll receive a dedicated implementation manager, sandbox access, and a quick‑start configuration guide so your team can get up and running on a schedule that works for you.

What kind of integrations are available?

Secure, modern integrations—including single sign‑on (SSO) and data‑export options—allow you to connect Housetable to your LOS, core, CRM, and document storage. Batch file options are also available for legacy systems.

Product & Features

What draw controls are in place?

Each draw begins when the contractor requests funds and uploads progress photos and other proof of completed work. The borrower reviews the evidence and signs off. Housetable’s platform then performs a remote inspection. Your team simply tracks the status in the Lender Portal. Once the remote inspection clears, funds are disbursed via ACH.

Can borrowers still choose their own contractors?

Yes. Borrowers invite contractors of their choice, who then complete onboarding in the Contractor Portal. Your institution can also maintain a list of approved contractors.

How do you vet contractors?

The Contractor Portal runs license verification, background checks, insurance proof, and performance scoring automatically, communicating and verifying directly with the borrower’s contractor when necessary.

How is your AVM different from a traditional appraisal?

Our AVM analyzes borrower‑captured photos and uploaded renovation plans using computer vision and machine‑learning models trained on millions of renovation outcomes to predict after‑renovation value (ARV) in under a minute—and at a fraction of the cost. Traditional appraisals rely on manual inspections and sales comps, taking days or weeks.

Security & Compliance

How do you handle consumer data privacy?

All PII is stored in encrypted databases within ISO 27001‑certified data centers. We are CCPA‑ready and sign DPAs upon request.

Are you SOC 2 certified?

Yes—Housetable is SOC 2 Type II certified. We also enforce MFA, role‑based access control, encryption in transit and at rest, and continuous pen‑testing.

What support do you provide post‑launch?
